Wireless Signal Strength (Router) I own a Linksys E4200, got it about 2 years ago. The signal strength was fine; however, recently, the throughput has decreased significantly on all of the wireless devices connected to it. My internet plan has stayed the same (25mbps/2.5mbps). Does the signal strength on a router decrease over time? |

hard reset it 30/30/30, hold 30 with the power button, then hold it another 30 taking the power cable out and hold it another 30 with the power cable back in. |
It has internal antenna? Other than reboot it, try update the firmware. If not okay, maybe the antenna was not connected properly |
Change the channel. You probably have a neighbour using the same channel. |
If someone in the house has an Android phone, try this free app. It will show your signal strength in comparison to your neighbors. You should have the strongest signal, because your router is closest to you. You can also choose the best (least crowded) channel to use. Basic for wifi there is 11 channels from 1 to 11 and if your both on 6 and it will run into each other....log into your router and change it to one that isn't near by |
