Touchless Soap As the title states i'm looking for a way to wash my car "touchless". We have this soap at my work that works incredible and I want something similar to it. I was thinking something along the lines of those attachments you see for hoses that spray out the weed killer crap on your lawns. I'm just not sure if there are any soaps powerful enough to take everything off without a scrup? If worse comes to worse i'll just buy a new wash mit and put it through the wash after i'm done using it every time. For what it's worth i'll be using/have access to a pressure washer at home to wash with. |
If you don't have to even touch the car.. I don't want to know what the soap is doing to the clearcoat and the paint.. :heckno: Just get the mit, and get the double bucket system going. |
They make special purpose foam guns, but I don't think you are going to get the car completely clean without atleast giving one scrub. Also pressure washers not such a good idea for really dirty vehicles cause your just gonna drive the dirt into the paint and scratch it up... I guess it depends on how good a clean you want, and how dirty the car is. |
Yea I use a cheap foam gun to wash the car when I'm too lazy for a scrub and on a white car at least you can still see some of the darker dirt stains even when using a pressure washer. |
go to the Automotive Detailing & Car Care Tech forum here and find 911fanatic (ken) of autowerkes. i am using a foam gun and a touchless detergent that he uses to get most of the crap off before using a mitt and bucket. i use it in the winter or between rainy days when the car is just really bad but the weather dosen't justify a detailed wash. |
like thumper said.. a foam gun is to simply get crap off before using a mitt and bucket (or what have you). if you're lazy, just buy Optimum No Rinse. i've been using that stuff religiously for the last 3 yrs. |
ONR is a fantastic product. ONR in tandem with Ammo Skin is what I use on my vehicles, and our company fleet gets the same treatment. Obviously the FX is a little special as you can't use anything that has wax or polish in it on that, so I have a different process on that vehicle. |
Where do you guys buy your cheap foam gun? |
I got mine home depot but only works with power washer |
I bought a cheap one off Amazon. Worked great until i ran it over... |

I bought mine from amazon as well. Been going strong for a couple years, have yet to run it over...:accepted: |
I've used a touchless drive thru wash a couple of times on my Stagea and I swear it made some marks on the black 15 year old trim pieces. Haven't tried treating it with anything after to fix it, but FYI that's what happened. I prefer a hand wash any day of the week. Edit: :ifyouknow: |
anything touchless is going to have some nasty wax stripping degreasers/acids... stop being a lazy fuck |

Read the thread's title, thought OP was referring to this :troll: http://www.sharperimage.com/si/img/p.../200667-p1.jpg |
i got my foam gun from chemical guys, works like a charm - still need to use a mitt though, + 2 bucket wash usually ends up relatively swirl free |
