Blue smoke

So my mk4 TDI is starting to periodically blow blue. However, the only time it does is when you're really winding it out and manage to peg the limiter. My initial thoughts are the valve stem seals but that's just a guess. Any suggestions?

Also, doesn't blow on start up or any other time. And if it sits for a few minutes afterward, it stops spewing smoke.

tdis are notorious for turbos failing.
-blue smoke means oils being burnt somewhere, the hard part is figuring out where.

If its at the top end under heavy load its probably the turbo showing its age. Like Godzira said, the TDI's kill turbos pretty quick.

I'm hoping its not... had an OEM replacement go in about 100k ago.
