vehicle left bc and came back, inspection needed? So I had a vehicle registered in BC, then I went and registered it out of province. Now I brought it back a year later and am getting some mixed answers. 1) First ICBC person says an inspection is needed for out of province vehicles 2) second ICBC person says 'well it was registered in BC before so you are ok' 3) I've called several autoplans with mixed answers.... does anyone have any experience with this? I am unable to call ICBC while at work but am hoping someone who knows what they are talking about can chime in. Thanks |
Find the person that says you can, go insure it at that location. |
This^^ If you still have an old registration laying around, use that when you go to register it. |
You will new a pass pvip. Once a vehicle is registered out of province, even for 1 day, when it comes back it will need an inspection. When the agent enters the province it is coming back from, the system will want an pvip. Motorcycles and trailers (with normal/rebuilt status already)and certain motorhomes will not require one. It is in the autoplan manual under vol 1 |
^ this. I had to go through that when I brought my BC car back. |
Yes, I had to go through an out of province inspection to register my car in BC again after registering it in AB, even though the car was original bought and registered in BC. |
Hey guys, Ended up needing an inspection for the truck. I had a trailer that did NOT need an inspection, just a visual (for the vin#) Hope this helps! Thanks all |
