Boosting Chromecast Reception

What a cost effective way to increase my Chromecast signal?

Here's the scenario, My Chromecast is located in the same room as my router, literally 10 feet away. However, Chromecast only supports WiFi and 2.4GHz channel. Unfortunately, all the 2.4Ghz channels from 1-11 is complete shit in my neighborbood (I can't use any channels above 11). The best channel is 1, and I am already on it. I get 2/5 bars at the moment with Chromecast (again it's located 10 feet away from my router which is a Linksys E4200). I can only stream 360p/480p quality videos on Youtube and that ain't pretty on a 60" TV.

Powerline will not work (lack of an ethernet port), Range Extender is questionable, and replacing the router will not work as it's not the router's fault. It's the environment that I'm in.

This post won't help you much but my experiences with Chromecast isn't very good as well. I have issues too but I feel they are device based. Can't speak for youtube cause I never tried it but when I try to beam a video I noticed it never queues ahead of time so you can't even pause it to make the rest of the video jitter free. It also doesn't make sense that my Apple TV inches away can stream properly with no problems.

A colleague of mine encountered the same problem. It seems to be isolated to the device (Chromecast) itself. Tried it at different houses and it never worked properly even after swapping for another one.

If you're mirroring from your PC to your Chromecast (meaning your desktop screen is shown on your TV), it's suppose to be laggy. They are still in the beta stages for that feature.

Fixed it! Wifi Analyzer app that I used was garbage. It displayed all of the channels in my area having strong interference. Now I'm getting full bars all around. :)
