Brush-on clear coat products
 

Can anyone recommend any clear coat products that can be brushed onto a painted surface? No aerosol spray cans please - this is for a few patches, not half my car.

The part with the clear coat damage isn't visible from most angles, so I'm not looking for something that needs to look perfectly smooth, but something durable that will adhere to, seal, and protect the paint underneath.

not sure of your budget but i think something like restore-fx type of services could temporarily fix the problem. it adds layer of clear coat to cover up/fill in imperfections.

I would do Opti Coat Pro or Opti Coat 2.0 as they work as a second layer of clear coat permanently and add up a few micron for protection.

Here's a nice blurry one. Clear coat starting to delaminate from the edge of the sheet metal. The brown stuff isn't dirt - it's the clear coat going bad. I can pick entire flakes off with my fingernail.

This is happening along the entire fender lip. Fortunately almost none of it can be seen from a standing position. Trying to stop the spread before it goes past the lip.

You could try this product from Canadian Tire. The foam applicator puts down the clear coat evenly. Plus you can save the real paint for touch ups you may require down the road.
