SMS notification of voicemail - How to stop?
 

I've searched all over but can't seem to find a solution to this. It just started for me as I've recently switched to the Oneplus One. I'm getting the regular voicemail icon and notification but I also get an SMS (text) telling me that I have a voicemail message.

I'm with Rogers. Running cyanogenmod 11s. Is this a carrier issue or phone/OS issue?

go delete or listen to your voicemail?

other than that, i think you have to go force stop your "phone" app.

I think you are missing what I'm saying. I know that listening to your voicemail will eliminate the voicemail notification icon. But I also receive a text message telling me I have a voicemail. So two notifications informing me of the same thing. I want to stop the text message informing me of the voicemail.

i think it might be an android thing. if i get a voicemail, i get a voicemail notification on the notification bar (from the phone app). i also get a text message saying i have a voicemail as well (listed in my text messages).

the text message will say the person's name and then it will say voicemail 1 new 0 urgent. i haven't found a way to stop the text message either.

i know on iOS, you only get the voicemail notification and no text message at all. (unless you have visual voicemail i believe)

ohh.. don't think you can remove that. it's part of your plan and voice mail feature.

I know what you're talking about. I annoys me too. It's been an issue with all my phones for as long as I remember, and I've switched from Rogers, to Wind, to Virgin.

I've inquired before, and they say there's nothing you can. Lame.

damn. Well, this is a new issue for me. I've been on Rogers for years now, gone through iphones, berries, androids, etc. and this has only started recently. Oh well, I'll have to live with it then.

I get this as well, but it only tells me I have "1 new voicemail, 0 urgent" every damn time. I'm with Virgin on an S4 mini, I can't remember if it started before or after I got the phone.
