BSOD Error (Kernel Data Inpage Error)

Been getting this BSOD error since I got my new SSD, and installed a fresh copy of Windows 8.1 on it.

The BSOD error is: Kernel Data Inpage Error (I get this error at least once per day)

I've done the following:
-Upgraded BIOS
-Updated all Windows updates
-Ran Chkdsk

I highly doubt it's a ram issue, as I've ran memtest on it countless of times in the past without any issues.

Help?

That error is related to your hard drive(s).

Check SMART data on them and run Seatools on it in DOS (make a bootable floppy).

My SSD is the primary drive.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for.

Need the actual SMART numbers.

Run a Long Generic test with Seatools next.

:fuckthatshit: Throw it away.

Inpage error usually happens when the drive is waking up.

If you already have all HotFix installed at OS level, try to download an app that prevents the HDD from sleeping and see if that solves it. If so, check to see if there's any new firmware update from HDD manufacturer that address this issue. And if that is indeed the case, get in touch with HDD manufacturer to see if they can help

My SSD failed the Seatool DOS long generic test. What now? RMA?

Iceman_2K 11-09-2014 04:20 PM

Yup.

What's the easiest way to clone it to another drive, so I don't need to do a fresh install?

Razor Ramon HG 11-09-2014 06:09 PM

EaseUs ToDo Backup Free, but it might have read errors while cloning.

I'd back up your important files first, and then try cloning.

Then RMA or chuck it.

Definitely NOT throwing it away. I bought the SSD a few weeks ago. Lol

you can create a windows image. it is under backup/restore on all windows after 7, it will prompt you to create a boot disc and restore it from there.

there are lots of other disc tools as well, you can download acronis from the seagate site (disc wizard) . it will work as long as you have 1 seagate drive.
