ASUS RT-N66U & Print Server Connection
 

(i am the worst noob at this stuff so please respond in "router for dummies" format please thx)

running win 8.1 on a surface pro3. i just bought this router. i used the print server option that it is to connect a usb brother mfc-7220. it seemed to print okay at first, but if i go away for awhile and come back and try to print again, the router no longer sees the printer on its network. i would have to reboot and then the printer would show up again... what am i doing wrong?

also, i can no longer scan from the printer to my computer. when i tried to google, i saw mention that this feature is disabled... why?

help? :confused:
