Google Photo Sphere This is a feature I don't really see anyone talking about.. It's part of the google camera app, and it's basically the same technology used for Street View... I discovered it by accident a while ago, and was just looking through them and the results were pretty good. The only sketchy part is where there are things or people moving around. Sometimes they don't line up correctly either, but that could be due to technique http://i.imgur.com/nenf6bZ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/W0TNjIM.jpg http://i.imgur.com/hJfddCz.jpg http://i.imgur.com/n1D7Ong.jpg http://i.imgur.com/1hZVx14.jpg Also when you view the images on your phone, you can move it around to view around the photo.. pretty cool! Anyone else been playing around with it? Share your pics |
I've played with it a bit... always found it to be really sketchy when it comes to lining up the shots to snap them, which leads to really poor stitching. Haven't tried it yet on my new Lollipop ROM tho, with the latest Google camera app. |

Like I said, it doesn't work when people are moving around The stitching works well with landscapes... That second one of the peak is like 15 images |
Nobody else tried? |
i used it extensively when the feature first came out...lots of my friends didn't even know their phone had it until i showed them it's fun but out of a handful of stitches you only get a few keepers and even then the difference in lighting/white balance becomes obvious Spoiler! |
I took a bunch of photospheres in the last few months, and most of them turned out pretty good http://i.imgur.com/tHXnueI.jpg |
Yeah I think you have to actually put some effort into it to get anything good out of it. You can't just point and shoot and expect it to come out great. |
heres some from awhile ago.. guess I should try this in HK.. i totally forgot about this function..haha http://i.imgur.com/lwkQB1V.jpg http://i.imgur.com/T2nlQsg.jpg and heres tiny planet at riverside http://i.imgur.com/b7I6oKG.jpg |
Downloading the app now. Looks very interesting. Always loved playing with the camera and now that I have one better than what the iPoon used to have it should make for some nice pics. |
