80's and 90's wrestling and cars were the best

Seriously, late 80's early 90's... cars and wrestling were both at their prime!

Who could ever forget Ted Dibiase "The Million Dollar Man"?

Of course now he'd be called Edward Kwok "The Billion Dollar Man" due to inflation and a demographic switch, but whatever.

That theme song is still epic.

Oh look wow someone totally unrelated to me did an article about the similarities between 1980's and 1990's wrestlers and today's celebrities!

Rip Randy Savage

Old school WWE is the only good reason to subscribe to the network right now.

you are right, 90s wrestling was at its best back then. The Ultimate warrior, the legion of doom, hulk hogan Mr. Perfect, boss man, Brett "hitman Hart, gold dust haha, ken shamrock, trish, china undertaker. ... And the list goes on. Back then the black box and the pay preview events. Oh... So much fun. I think only undertaker is still fighting. I stopped watching long time ago. But I wish under taker would go back to his old character where he would rise from the dead or have his casket matches.

TheStig 12-13-2014 04:25 PM

I mean... honestly... this guy had more entertainment value in the tip of his finger than the majority of the current WWE roster:

After WCW went under, WWE really got flat and I haven't been able to get into it since.

Tim Budong 12-13-2014 09:15 PM

WWE could have taken the invasion angle to amazing proportions, but they fucked it up

80's/90's cars you say?

Tim Budong 12-14-2014 01:15 AM

one of those skits that tested the limits of the FCC and many parents

Back in the day I watched it religiously. Not sure if it's because I'm older now or the show is super boring (maybe a bit of both). The new wrestlers are so generic I can't even tell the difference between them.

^ back then wrestlers had a persona. Now its just shitty acting mixed with who roids the most.

Tim Budong 12-18-2014 01:21 AM

wrestling now usually gets good around Wrestlemania season..so usually the build up to the Royal Rumble till around Wrestlemania

however, an absent Champion does make it less interesting. I must say, Seth Rollins, Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose are carrying a pretty big chunk of the work out there.

Best wrestling in the past few years has to be CMPUNK/CENA leading to the match at MITB, too bad the WWE fucked it up and had Punk return too early. It would have been great.

The reason the invasion angle failed miserably was the fact that Vince didn't want the WWE side to lose because it'd make them look weak. Instead, he decided it'd make total sense for the WCW and ECW guys to get completely squashed :heckno:

back in the day when i saw that and they put on the dark skin make-up i was like WTF!!! :lawl:

i was totally expecting protests and cries of racism...but then again it's in the US and the demographic watching WWE down there...

when they had nWo 'reformed' in WWE i was hoping it was going to be just as epic as wcw but knew it was going to be a watered down no-name brand diet version of it that would just fail...
