2IS Airbag light

1 Attachment(s)
Hey any 2IS owners here dealt with the airbag light (on the dash, not the center console) coming on?

a quick google search reveals the harness needs to be replaced and dealer may charge up to $2000 to do so due to needing to remove the entire dash...

just looking for input on this from any owners who have had this repaired or have spoken to a tech/adviser about this.

some people say its a warranty thing and you have to pay (this car is way out of warranty) and some say its a safety TSB issue so it's done no charge.

this light

well I can tell you if you do get in a accident no airbags will deploy at all.. See if you can bum a obdII scanner off someone

Although when you have a passenger in the car, does the PAS - Airbag light come on or off?

u might have to take it to the dealership... i think there is a recall for the airbag lights long time ago... type in your VIN in the lexus link below...

i believe there is also a fuel line recall coming up for our canadian models and a sticky dash recall too, but i still havn't received my letter yet...

here is NHTSA recall data base

Ooo thanks for the heads up,

upon further research it apparently could be the harness/plug of the airbag by the drivers foot well that can come loose and all that is needed to fix it is to take some panels off and ensure its tight and snug.

will report back

i just received my letter for recall on the fuel lines today

Qmx323 12-25-2014 05:37 PM

i dont think i have my address in their system yet so ill call them :)

update: Dug around the drivers footwell and removed 2 panels to see the harness.. wiggled it around and re seated it. didnt seem loose but the light has gone away for now.

saved myself $2000 bucks

now to treat myself to some wheels with those savings
