When it rains it pours.
It's just going to happen more and more. As air travel grows, aircraft technology requires less and less experienced crews on a day to day basis. That is, until something goes wrong... You can feel safe in Canada as every airline in the country has fairly experienced (in the grand scheme of things) crews who have flown more then just a simulator in the past.

Supposedly they asked for a clearance to get a higher alt but separation minimas kept them low. This is what my dad told me and I actually haven't read fuck all on the accident.

That isn't exactly a highly experienced crew but certainly not the worst. The captain was a military guy, so they are generally a little lower time then their civilian counterparts.

Singapore's Changi airport is probably the most advanced in the world. Air Asia hasn't had a single noticeable incident or fatality till now for it's entire history and it flies to more places than Westjet.
All of you armchair pilots need to shut your mouth and wait for the investigation to come to it's conclusion before you continue shooting it off.
