New door through existing wall

Like the title says, I want to create connect 2 rooms separated by a wall. It's not something that I would do myself but has anyone done this before and have a rough idea how difficult and how much this would cost?

if it's a non load bearing wall it's super easy....even if it is, just slightly trickier but no big deal

if this in a house or condo? ie wood frame or steel stud?

probably going to cost a few hundred ($400, mutiple trips possibly) plus materials depending who you get to do it

but it could be done carefully without causing any extra drywall work.....just some basic framing and trim install after the door frame

Thanks blkgsr. To answer your question, it's a house. I also need to open up a vent and have a water source so that I can install a washer/dryer. Does anyone have any reliable trades contacts?
