Awd Dyno

I'm looking into getting a stand alone, bigger injectors and a dyno tune.
Since Vancouver Island doesn't have an awd dyno I've been looking into Racing Greed.
Does anyone have any experience with that shop? or any suggestions on where I can go?

fliptuner 01-20-2015 03:33 PM

Have been, would recommend.

meme405 01-20-2015 03:48 PM

My car was tuned there by MNR. No complaints.

Warning though, this dyno has been nicknamed "The heartbreaker" it is known to read pretty darn low. If you are going to make improvements and for a tune then it will serve you well, but if you want to just hop on and see what your making, this dyno will ruin your day.

EDIT: Also Racing Greed is a good shop. I think many on RS will backup the work that RG does.

Okay good to know thanks!
It's hard to find a place I trust my car with for something like that, I haven't been here very long so I need to do a little digging before I spend all my money and make the trip down.

I'm just waiting to hear back from them about a quote for everything.

You have an R32 right?

Go to Monkey Nutz, those guys deal with everything from that realm. Everything from 260Z track monsters, to R34 GTR SpecV's they've done it all.

If their dizzying array of previous works doesn't convince you, just ask them to show you their personal vehicles. You've never seen such ridiculous swaps, I can only imagine why their not on the forums much, the internet would explode when they see a nissan swapped with a honda motor.

Pretty sure Racing Greed can tackle just about any build/tune you throw at them.

MonkeyNutz are good shit, Jurie and Shawn are good people and have an extensive knowledge of nissans.
That being said MNR uses RG's dyno so either way your car will end up there.

The Mustang dyno reads low but is one of the best for tuning and before and after comparisons, you can ask for the Dynojet conversion numbers if your looking for a higher number (30%ish)

Okay thanks guys, I'll check them both out, especially if they know their shit about Nissans.

I believe the dynojet correction factor for RG's mustang is closer to 15%

Nevertheless it is a low reading dyno...numbers are just numbers...trap speed is a good indicator of what power you are really making at the end of the day.

As far as Racing agreed is concerned Id also recommend them. I think it's important to know what you want to do and research it though because building a car is collaborative process and you should have an idea of what are the pros/cons of changing things. For instance there aren't too many ct9a evos around so I make sure to read up as much as possible before bringing in my car so we can anticipate what problems may arise while making changes.

They're building an r34 for a customer right now but I see r33 and r32 there all the time.
Tommy and Shawn in specific can handle themselves as far as tuning. What management system are you using?

Out of curiosity what color is the r34 their building?

+1 for RG. Have not been in a long time but Tommy is a good guy.

that dyno is an absolute heart breaker. my "252hp" focus made only 186whp. so yeah. not a good day for me </3

That's corrected number, or uncorrected?

originalhypa 02-02-2015 08:37 AM

They're good guys over at RG.
My car still pushed 340whp (uncorrected) on their dyno, but the tmic was running hot and I was getting mild knock, so we had to dial it back a bit. I'm a big fan of street tuning, but the dyno gave me a chance to diagnose my intercooler problems in a safe environment.

+1 for RG

Godzira 02-02-2015 08:46 AM

RG didn't respond to my emails :(
but the guys at Monkeynutz have been extremely helpful and quoted less than RG originally did.
