Help me pick wheels for 2015 mustang GT Hi again. So yeah..I make a lot of these topics but you guys have been very helpful so far. First set of wheels I'll be buying. Probably from states. Car: 2015 mustang GT magnetic Style going for: Enkei Wheels - Tuning Series - Raijin Mustang RTR Wheels | AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping Color: black Finish: matte or polished..not sure yet Lip: don't know yet either.. Weight: sort of matters, the car is already 3800lbs, would prefer lightweight if possible. Willing to spend $1000-$1200 USD for all 4 wheels (although our dollar is doing terrible..) read this article: http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/....jsp?techid=90 I'm even more confused than before. Is there a common type of wheel most people get around my price range that balances cost for quality? Any good sites to browse as well? Any good stores that I could get a discount from? |
Just get some 19x10 varrstoen and be done with it |
I have a set of these for sale in the right offset for a mustang. Line Corse lc888. Pm if interested http://dudesphotography.smugmug.com/...0-%2015-X2.jpg |
I'll take the wheels and the e92 please and thank you. |
If I had a choice I'd go for Enkei. RTR wheels are made by HRE, and they are well reputable company but HRE is only for street cars and they make lots of custom made wheels for Hummer, Cadillac, Ferrari, etc.. Whereas Enkei makes real racing wheels and known as one of the best wheel manufacture in the world. Their technology is way ahead if you're looking for performance wheels. There's a reason why McLaren uses Enkei for their F1 machine. http://www.blog.enkei.com/wp-content...nada5945-1.jpg |
I posted this before in your other thread. If you are looking for discounts for mustang specific stuff, go to the mustang message boards. The stores that sponsor them will post their member discounts and deals there. Having said that, have you looked at the RS sponsors here? I am sure several of them must carry enkei... Question: maybe it's my smartphone but I cannot see a size/spec/offset and weight chart for this enkei wheel you want. What do they list for the s550? I asked this before but did not see a reply... does yours come with brembo brakes? Those calipers could limit your choices (I am not worried with the rtr because it is a wheel specific to the mustang). Also make sure the center bore is correct. Some of the Japanese wheels do not have the right center bore for north American cars. |
Wayyy too technical for me thumper haha. I was just gonna look for style/company/price I like first then get into the technical aspects. Sorry about not replying to those other questions, lots of replies. Nope no brembo brakes. Essentially it is BASE base base mustang GT. Liking these AG wheels too! http://www.getyourwheels.com/view-wh...10-matte-black What is the reputation of Avant garde? |

I understand from a business standpoint, but I think the wheels were still too expensive for the type of person looking at cheap wheels, and they only diminished their own brands reputation by putting out a cheaper product. They should have stuck to their bread and butter business which was high end forged multipiece and monoblock wheels. --- With that said, don't be too worried about buying cast wheels, if thats all that is in the budget don't hesitate, most manufacturers alloy wheels are cast, and most people don't have a problem with them. The reality is that most bumps which would kill a cast wheel, would likely result in damage to a forged wheel as well. What I will say though is that you should know what you are buying, if you are buying a cast wheel, do not get conned into paying forged wheel pricing for them *cough*Vossen*Cough*. |
Have you tried dropping into 1010/ volco tires to see what they have? |
You will want 20's trust! |
I went with VMR wheels. Huge in the BMW world and within your price range. Not everyone needs $4000 wheels. For me, I'd be paranoid driving around on something so costly. Then again, I'm a function > form guy. Should just ask yourself what you want out of your car. I bought my wheels through Volco. Spoiler! |

Local deals can be had. It's always best to check locally first then compare online. With our shitty dollar nowadays you may save by buying local. Although the selection in the US is much greater. |
I'm a big fan of cast wheels, IME forged wheels tend to bend on potholes well before a cast wheel will crack. Obviously forged are a better wheel if you are going to run enough tire... But on elastic bands for road use, don't fear the cast. Nothing worse than bent lips on 1000/each forged wheels that take 4-6 months to replace. |
OP go for SVE Drifts if you are budget or if u have money TSW Nurburgring. Mega bucks go for HRE |
Wheels all depend on what tire set ups you're looking to run too. So consider that when buying wheels. |

One Speedhunters author recently got 20x10 +30 TE37 Ultras on his Ecoboost. Project EcoBoost: TE37 Everything - Speedhunters http://www.speedhunters.com/wp-conte...py-800x533.jpg http://www.speedhunters.com/wp-conte...py-800x533.jpg http://www.speedhunters.com/wp-conte...py-800x533.jpg |
I like TE37s as much as the next guy, but prefer thumper's example myself. |
