Best way to wireless mirror PC screen? Setting up new office and in order to hide an HDMI cable from my wall mounted TV to computer it's gonna take about a 30 foot HDMI and I'm going to have to take off the baseboards to run it, would prefer not to do that. Are there any good wireless solutions? Don't really care about full quality signal just mirroring for TV shows, and computer work really |
miracast (wifi) http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/w...creen-miracast ur computer needs the hardware for it...can't recall what that is... but if it doesn't have it you can buy a dongle that does it oh and a chromecast can do it too http://www.howtogeek.com/199565/mirr...le-chromecast/ read more on miracast http://www.howtogeek.com/200796/what...should-i-care/ |
i'm also looking into this as well as some of my clients want to do this. I'm doing some research on intel widi as most of the laptops have the technology built in already. |
Also another solution although not cheap, if you guys are looking to hook up PC's with TV's. Look into the Lenovo Tiny, can vesa mount onto the tv's/wallmounts. Full PC with wireless. All our tv's run a Lenovo Tiny. |
+1 to miracast if u have the hardware for it that's what i use to stream from my surface pro3 to tv |
Is it "easier" to find aomthing to stream only media as opposed to mirroring the screen? |

If you use chromecast, your android phone/any computer with chrome is your 'remote' -- it's a lot less cluttered + looks a lot nicer IMO. It lets you mirror your screen as well, and its only $40 |
if you just wanted to stream movies and not browse the net etc you can download kodi (formerly XBMC) and turn UPNP on in the settings, then from your tv (if it's a smart tv) you just navigate to the 'media server' and you'll find your media library available works great, that's what i do for my other tvs not by my htpc, streaming large files (only tried 20gb) is not a problem at all...the only issue is your tv may not support certain file types and those will be missing from your list (for me it's .asf .iso .mpg files) also, i believe motherboards/cpus coming out this fall will have wireless hdmi capability built in... (cmiiw, but i remember reading about it when looking to upgrade my pc) |
