Parting out / junking a car

Hi folks,

Sadly, my '98 Audi A4 is old and sick, and since work involves a lot of travel, I can't leave Mrs. Brasky home with an unreliable car.

Depending what the mechanics quote me today, I'll be looking to either repair it and sell it, or simply junk it.

Can anyone recommend one junker / towaway service over another?

The car is in great condition except for a seriously troubled electrical system, and unfortunately has new tires, with less than 1000 km on, but I've spent twice its value in repairs in the last six months.

Any advice appreciated!

An Audi with electrical issues? Say it ain't so! :lol

Try calling up an Audi/VW wrecker (Autobahn and Gordon's come foremost to mind) as they are often looking for unwrecked cars for harder to find pieces. I actually have an outstanding offer from one of those two to buy my TDI if I ever decide to junk it. lol

You can also put it up on Craigslist or Kijiji and mark it down as a mechanics special for someone willing to work on electrical gremins.

If you have the time/patience, sell it on craigslist for cheap. Your average wrecker will probably only offer you $100-$250 to haul it away.
