Telus/Shaw extending 6 months promo price

Hi
I was with telus $20/$20/$20 for past 6 month.
now I'm paying regular price $58 for internet.

I heard some ppl swtich between telus/shaw every 6 month, not something I want to do...
Has anyone successfully gotten promo price $30/m after 6 month?

I called Telus, they can offer me another 6 months promo but I have to sign up for 1 year(6month promo + 6 months regular). sounded like they'd rather have me go to Shaw than give me another 6 months promo with no sign up...
$30 is ok but $60 per month for their slowest speed is bit hard to swallow.

I'm not sure about Telus because I'm with shaw right now but-

Shaw pretty much did the same thing with me after 6 months. They jacked up the price and offered me another promo that still ended up being like 120. So I canceled their service and 3 days later, I got a call from rep offering me another 6 months for previous promo price. Maybe try canceling to show you're actually willing to discontinue their service? But again this was with shaw :/

Good luck. They don't really care these days. Unless you have all your service with Telus (Phone cable, Internet and cell pone) i doubt they would.

my friend told me to do this, sign up with telus and cancel / renew under a different name. Same 6 months promo or someshit

Yes, but you still need to have tech come in and install new modem, mail out your old modem, which cost you nothing on your end but costs money for Telus.

This makes no sense to me. I'm sure Telus is aware of this loop hole.
How much money are they wasting on field tech to serve basically a same customer? why not just take off 6 months limiter and stop wasting time and money?

frankly, ppls been switching back n forth so much i dont think they would care cus they know once the 6mon promo ends ull go back to one or the other.
