Caledon OPP stopped a vehicle on Highway 10 south of County Road 109 around 12:30pm this afternoon for a routine traffic stop for "Unattached License Plates" that led to several charges and the vehicle being impounded for 7 days for Driving Under Suspension.
The driver was also charged with several other charges under the Highway Traffic Act and released at the scene.
Another group of people arrived on scene to assist the driver but was also unable to drive away from the scene due to being suspended from driving. The driver of the second vehicle was also charged with Driving Under Suspension. The passenger was also unable to drive from the scene due to a suspension but was not charged.
A third vehicle then showed up with a couple other friends to assist with removing the vehicle. The other passenger in the third vehicle was placed under arrest for outstanding warrants.
Police officers cleared the scene after about an hour of writing tickets and court summons. Officers transported the passenger arrested on warrants to Caledon East for further investigation.
