SICK, Asus is selling the 128gb version in HK in July HK$2999 (US$387) |
Came across something very strange just now. Since acquiring the phone, I have always used a 5.0V 1.0A Samsung charger from my old phone to charge my Zenfone2. I did so because I didn't like the 9V@2A fast charge mode on the charger that came with, and I have never ran into any trouble with charging the phone this way. When I came home today and plugged my phone in (for charging) as usual, I wasn't expecting anything out of the ordinary. However, when I was checking on the charging just now, I noticed that the phone was displaying an error message saying something along the lines that it was connected to an unsupported charger. Looking at the battery gauge, the battery wasn't charging anything at all. Incidentally, earlier in the day, I updated a bunch of the Asus apps on the phone. I'm using a 5.2V charger that came with my Nexus 7 to charge the phone now, and so far, I am not getting any errors with it. As you may remember, the Nexus 7 is also an Asus product. I don't suspect it is an Asus charger thing, but it does seem very strange... |
bump for those of you that have this phone, are you guys happy with it? any problems or issues? also, does 4g lte work? |
Just to give an update on the weird charging issue that I ran into earlier. I was forced to use my 5.2V Nexus 7 charger on the Zenfone2 for ~a week when an update from Asus became available. Apparently, that fixed the battery charger compatibility issue, and I was able to continue using my old 5.0V 1.0A charger again. After another recent update, my power saving profile would somehow automatically change to one of the more conservative power saving mode where the phone would go into sleep mode and cut off my network connections. I have repeatedly set it back to the customized power saving profile where it would NOT cutoff my (WiFi) network connections, but it would only work for a while, only to automatically switch back to the stupid conservative battery saving mode again. After being stuck for another week or so, I think one of the recent Asus updates have fixed the problem. So I'd say the last 3 weeks or so hasn't been pretty. But thankfully, everything seems to have settled back to the norm again, and I am happy with everything the phone has to offer. |
I'm considering buying this for my aunt who requires the system language to be in Chinese. Can someone who has the phone go to Settings -> Language and see if Chinese is available? TIA! |
It's a standard Android phone, so it has the standard Chinese system language menu. |
