Funny that it was a "standing around fest" instead of intense car customization. So I'm assuming just final assembly is what is happening there? Or is he shaving and grinding stuff up?

I was like "nah it can't be that bad" but I see why you made the suggestion.:heckno:
The car was complete other than maybe a couple stickers to go on. Also, no classic porsches. A few nice porsches, yes. Classics, no chance. Its still cool to see the cars, and him, but really was nothing crazy.

white rocket 04-10-2015 06:46 PM

Yeah, you think it's gonna be like a rock concert but it just ends up being kinda meh. Cool to see a legend in person I suppose.

PandaDog 04-10-2015 09:41 PM

Nice to see the owner of the black+white Porsche kept his word about converting the exterior to an older style.
I did the wheels in the black color, glad to see it in person and holding up strong :fullofwin:

Here's how it looked like the last time I saw it:

I wonder how much body parts for these kind of cars go for... $$$

westopher 04-10-2015 10:24 PM

The before looks a lot better. I don't see how he converted the exterior to an older style by wrapping the hood/bumper and adding a decal.

Out of curiosity, how do these RWB kitted cars drive after? They look pretty damn aggressive that's for sure.

Maybe it's just me but I feel like I'm getting over the RWB craze. Still love the styling and aggressiveness but they're almost becoming mainstream now. Like the exclusivity is lost a bit. With all the money here there's gonna be a bunch of them roaming the streets soon.

Timpo 04-11-2015 09:49 AM

Vimeo is ok but why don't you guys post it on YouTube? You will get a lot more attention around the world for sure.

I felt the same way, but seeing the green one up close really erased that feeling. Its just so fucking cool. I still don't think I'd ever have the money or the balls to cut up a 911 though.

really? to me, widebody is like 911's most popular mod.
I think they already had numerous widebody kits for 911 back in 1980s.

westopher 04-11-2015 10:05 AM

Thats why there are so many shitty fibreglass cars on the market now though that aren't worth buying for someone like me.

dvst8 04-11-2015 11:01 AM

Amazing work on the green Porsche. RWB is on another level of craftsmanship.

IINur 04-11-2015 06:57 PM

Not sure about RWB cars, but I'll have wet dreams about that gray .2 RS inside and yellow 996TT outside. Perfection

I know because of cheap Chinese made fiberglass bodykit for Civic and Mustang might made you think that fiberglass are for low end cars.
However you should realize that some of the well respected cars in automobile history had fiberglass body.

He's talking about fibreglass glued onto Porsche fenders.

westopher 04-11-2015 09:58 PM

Those cars were designed with fibreglass parts in mind. If you just start replacing metal parts with fibreglass and no idea, thats the problem.

trollguy 04-11-2015 10:15 PM

In hindsight.. Kind of a weird premise for an event given that the car was complete...

Almost like he's a circus animal. Come for the show and buy some souvenirs!

oh what the heck it's not just RWB doing this, other tuners have done it and as far as I know it hasn't cause any problem. Porsche 911's body probably isn't that structural, whereas some cars might have monocoque bodies which support entire cars' rigidity. But maybe for 911's case, it's nothing but a panel.

^how about changing its driving dynamic by simply making it wide body and having low offset rims? Or does a RWB build consist of more supporting mod?

Are you kidding me? People on 6SpeedOnline (well known Porsche forum) say RWB leaves nothing untouched.

Just by visually looking at that car, you can see wide rims, huge brembos, I'm assuming coilovers, roll cage, etc.

Nakai tends to stay NA but you can ask for Turbo too.

Still cool to see RWB Porsches. On the other hand, I've gotten tired and sick of seeing rocker bunny, liberty walk and other widebody shit.

Felt kind of the same way. In fact it was only a mere 60 years ago or a distance away, people were literally exhibited in public zoos!

Otherwise, it was nearly a dream come true seeing one of these formally displayed in conjunction with the young lady taking some professional shots.

I felt the same, I actually felt bad for Nakai cause I'm pretty sure he's not into this sort of publicity. He'd rather be working on a car. That being said. I bought an overpriced tshirt =D

swfk 04-12-2015 09:32 AM

Best car of the showcase IMO. Best colour scheme as well.
