R34 GTT Hood Question
 

Hey guys, so I have a friend who has an R34 GTT that's looking to purchase a Seibon carbon fiber hood... Only problem is that Seibon lists the hood only for a GTS model. Called in to help her ask and they said the same thing, it's only for a GTS, but when I do some more research on it, R34 does not have a GTS model? I know that GTR hoods do not fit non GTR's as the hood is quite a bit bigger, but I'm not sure if the "GTS" hood would fit the GTT. I'm assuming that the hood should fit as long as the car isn't a GTR, but I can't find any confirmation on it either and wouldn't want to recommend my friend to purchase the hood and have it not fit either :/ Called monkeynutz as they're a shop that deals with a bunch of skyline's, but they said the same thing. They think it should fit but also not absolutely sure that it would.

Anyone here have any information on this topic?

There is an R33 GTS/GTS-T, and an R34 GTT. I'd make sure Seibon isn't listing an R33 GTS hood as being for an R34.

Yeah I called Seibon and made sure it was for an R34, that was the only part they were sure about. When I asked for a hood for an R34 GTT they had no idea what it was, and that the customer with the R34 "GTS" came in and said that his car was a GTS and he was sure of it. However, when I asked Seibon if their customer's car had a turbo or not the guy thought that only the GTR model had a turbo.... >_>

Then your best bet is to find other GTT owners using that hood, or find out if all non-GTR hoods are the same.

R34 was never officially imported to North America so a lot of people are not familiar with it unless they know a lot about cars. Seibon is no exception, they're getting confused. Tell Seibon to learn a thing or two about Skylines because they don't know what they're talking about.

You can try asking the used car dealer at Garden City and Alderbridge? The owner of the store recently put a CF hood on the R34GTR and MAYBE it's a Seibon hood.

Seibon claims they make a hood for R34 GTS, not GTR or GTT.
Even if you find a GTR with Seibon hood, that doesn't mean Seibon does not make a hood for other Skylines. They say they made one for GTS, which never existed.

can your friend take pics of his current hood, or find pics online of a r34 gtt hood, and send them to seibon and see if they can match it to what they have?

Seibon doesn't know anything unfortunately :/ Anyways, thanks for all the help guys. Update on whoever may be looking for a hood on their GTT, we ordered a Seibon hood anyways after some more research and was pretty sure it would fit. Their "GTS" hood fits on the GTT, except the latch part. The part on the hood that hooks onto the OEM latch is about 5cm shorter than the OEM one. So that doesn't fit, no amount of cutting made it fit. Ended up going with hood pins instead, but other than that fitment is good
