Hello everyone, so I am just curious how often people here get nails stuck in their tire??

Some of you might think it is a dumb question but I ask because over the past 3 years I say it has happened almost 5 times and I think that seems kind of odd. I just want to know if it is something I should expect a lot in the Lower Mainland or if something fishy might be going on.

I am also what I believe to be a careful driver as I try to avoid most objects on the road even if they are "harmless" and try to avoid potholes etc. So as another question is it natural to have a nail go straight inwards into the wheel? We are talking like 2.5 to 4inch nails.

Hopefully it is a normal occurance, but it may be some dick neighbour trying to get at me or they are sweeping their mess onto the road.

Funny how you mention this. Just last week one of my families' cars managed to run over 14 nails. 14! There were about 3-4 in each tire, all at least 2 inches long. The other vehicle had only 2 in the front driver side wheel. It was 3-4am when the car hit the nails so there was no way to see the nails on the road. This happened right in our back alley.

I live in the fleetwood area and have reason to believe someone is fucking around, because one street down the same thing has happened and my neighbours are getting nails in the tires as well.

RS beatdown crew assemble.

Hmm if it is in your back alley and there are that many, someone most likely was negligent or did it on purpose. I agree someone needs a beatdown.

The last time I ran over a nail, I couldn't even see it.
But I noticed my tire pressure was dropping each time I did my random checks.
Then I started to check them every few days and concluded there must have been a tiny hole somewhere, but the nail didn't stay lodged in, making it impossible to notice.

Get a nail in my tire every 1-3 months. All this skytrain/apartment construction in Coq is fucking me up. Luckily patches are free for Kal Tire customers, just such a hassle going there so often...
