I agree for the most part that feature walls can look dated pretty quick, especially a lot of the "reclaimed" stuff people are using latey, which is why I opted for the brick panelling over actual stone work with somthing like cultured stone etc.

Here's the $3500+ wall:

My $250 wall

Thing with the panelling as well is that it's only nailed on, easy to remove and change. If you go an actual stone route you're going to be replacing the drywall

Would not want to be working on the second phase of that they are going to be pushing so hard. My best friend has been on phase one the last year, he quit his foreman job and went back on the tools because the money was to good to pass up.

nice work. the $3500 looks 'imperfect' since it's actual brick which some might like more while yours looks perfect since manufactured, but i'll take $250 over $3500 any day. good job.

Yea like obviously the guy is going for that industrial aged look but up close its pretty ugly, mesh backing poking out etc.

Was more of a case of developers thinking "it's expensive so it must be what people like"

I have led strip lights that are hidden behind moulding but people are more impressed when I show them my 21 inches.

People were impressed that I wasn't in a mental institution when my loft used to look like this

Lots of super cool things you can do with lights!

Can anyone find a more futuristic looking living room? Man that shit is tight!
