I've been listening daily since he started airing on Team, I like him but I know he's one of those like it or hate it type of shows.

I was flipping stations once and heard, in a short span, the latest (at the time) songs by Def Leppard, Shania Twain, and Bryan Adams... and couldn't tell which I was hearing until someone started singing. Mutt Lange made Shania's career and killed the others. :P

As to the OP, I mostly only listen to the radio when I'm driving, or when I'm on the shitter... usually 980, sometimes 1130 if that's boring (which happens more and more these days).

FM radio is mostly a wasteland, although I do get nostalgic with Jack sometimes. Classic rock stations just play the same shit - great songs that get boring after 10,000 repeats.

Other than that, CBC (both Radio 1 and Radio 2) are pretty good - at least they're not the same mainstream dreck.

It's really good, I have learned a lot from it. It's pretty unbiased, and I've learned more about Canadian politics, east coast of Canada, and it's got very good interviews that are relevant and educational about Canada
Also, on the weekend, they have a lot of very good comedy programs on.

I really enjoy it a lot

The Debaters, 11:30am Wed and 1:00PM Sat. FTW.

Vinyl Cafe Stories is a hoot.

Randy Bachman's Vinyl Tap is a great way to discover new old music and a lot of stories behind it and the musicians. If you like music but you're tired of the same playlist over and over on regular FM...

He's a great interviewer, but he also has an amazing talent for taking a 45 minute segment and cramming it into a mere three hours.

SpeedStars 06-29-2015 06:51 PM

If we're including SXM in this, my order goes from ch. 53, 51, 10, 15, and 47.
But for local stations i usually just tend to 102.7 and bounce between 104.9 and 94.5

Vansterdam 06-29-2015 07:14 PM

93.1 red FM buddy guy

Ford_Fanatic 06-29-2015 08:15 PM

During rush hour I listen to AM radio for a few minutes to get accident reports and that's it. Rest of the day I listen to podcasts when I can. 3 Joe Rogan episodes and the day's prettty much over, lol.

Inaii 06-29-2015 08:15 PM

CFOX is all I listen to on the days I drive. If I'm shipping, I get stuck listening to Jack FM because my manager puts it on and refuses to let anyone change it. After 5 though my co-worker changes it to some AM radio talk show. It's got a lot of disturbing shit on it...

sevewone 06-29-2015 08:20 PM

Whatever my FM Transmitter is tuned for so I can listen to the MMPC and JRE and Duncan Trussel and some other shit like that. Oh and X929 in Calgary is good

Podcast listeners, where do you get yours? A single source, or all over?

I never thought it would happen to me either but I find listening to CBC radio on my commute to work relaxes me. Listening to all the other radio stations irritates me because of all the commercials and they all play the same music. Also most of the time the topics are very interesting.

I also listen to CBC radio 2 105.7 from 8-10 pm for TONIC which is jazz music because it feels super soothing for those night drives.

Other than that I will flip around some other FM stations such as the Peak. My coworker had JRFM on and I must admit country isn't as bad as I thought lol.

Even NW, I find any more, the talk formats are following the same concept as the music formats - repetition, repetition, repetition. Where the hosts used to have mostly different topics through the day (plus one or two "hot button" topics), now it's pretty much the same playlist on every shift... and where you used to have the likes of Bill Good who was good at playing devil's advocate and never got into hysterics over anything... now it seems the hosts are all about stirring controversy: "here, we picked a subject, here's the station's position on it... that's what you have to work with. We always assume politicians are wrong and evil and we'll provide you out-of-context clips to back it up, so you make sure to flog it, flog it, flog it. No quarter given to dissenting views no matter how logical or reasonable they are."

Fuck, enough already.

There is nobody on the radio or television worth listening to.

All corporate-backed losers and hacks who promote someone else's agenda.

Modern media is brain-dead.

I enjoy listen to the news 1130 while driving or podcast. But when I'm at work, the radio is tuned into 95.3, 94.5 or 104.7FM. Those station drive me nuts! They play the same shit over and over. It's the same 10 songs they play every 30 mins. Don't they know people gets tired of listening to the same songs ? Why can't they play something new or different. They just love to beat the song to death until you feel like smashing your face against the wall.

Stern Show, Jay Thomas, a lot of liquid dubstep.

jinxcrusader 06-30-2015 10:18 AM

I recently started listening to a lot of CBC R2; FM 105.7 from around 11AM til 2-ish for their classical stuff. It's a nice change of pace and I love the stuff the hosts talk about, following each classical piece.

I like hearing Jonny/Holly/Nira's segment in the mornings on 94.5

thumper 06-30-2015 12:21 PM

streaming internet radio mostly. capitol 95.8.
