Shellfish Digging

Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations on a local place for a bunch of friends to just go out and have some fun digging up Clams and possibly even Geoduck?
I've never done it before so any advice would be appreciated!

Google searches gets me Island spots like Parksville and Tofino which isn't really a half day trip. Are there any spots we can go without taking the ferry?

Even better would be a place we could toss out some crab traps along a dock then go digging for a few hours.

^ geoduck.. blaine / samish island.

do that yearly. have to time the tides and make sure you get a license. it's a HUGE full day of work just FYI.

We went to Texada Island years ago and spent a couple hours there and got a nice haul. Nowhere near a full days work like mentioned above. Never been to Blaine though for that purpose. Gonna have to check out out! Be weary of red tide though. Best to make sure the shellfish aren't contaminated before heading out.

What do you mean by a full day of work? Like it takes 8 hours to dig and pull out 1 Geoduck?
Is there any place to go that doesn't require a ferry ride?
I heard there might be places out in White Rock or North Van?
