Compustar 2-way Remote Replacement

I've got a Compustar 2w8000fmr-5a remote that I'd like to replace as the screen is heavily scratched and it's almost impossible to read any of the notifications on it. Compustar no longer lists that particular remote on their replacement site anymore and I'm a little wary of ordering one off of Ebay or Amazon. Does anyone know if it's at all possible to some how connect the 9000 version (or any other Compustar 2-way remote) to the existing system or am I stuck using one of the aforementioned websites and trying my luck there?

I'd prefer not to spend a grand or two to replace a fully functioning 2-way, remote start alarm system when all I need is a $100 remote... :okay:

Mike at Soundsgood helped me out when my remote broke. I'm sure he would have an answer for you.
