Anyone know when the 5 dr's are arriving?

Rumours suggest 2017 Q1, but I wouldn't trust the rumours too much until I start seeing production cars out at the dealership.

Hondas really tight lipped on release dates but expect it spring 2017.

On a side note We got our first Ridgeline yesterday and it looks bad ass. It has a In bed audio system!

european 07-27-2016 10:47 AM

Still waiting for Type R...

Traum 07-27-2016 10:59 AM

You know, with the upcoming Civic Si rumoured to have a detuned K20C1, I'm thinking the Si might be a smarter buy compared to the Type R. With modern turbos, an ECU tune would go a very long way, and that might bring the engine outputs close to what the stock Type R is capable of.

Another thing is, the Si is going to look a lot more understated than the CTR, and that's probably a good thing unless you are keen on attracting the cop's attention.

But at the end of the day, the Civic is a midsize car now. Do midsize sporty FWD cars have much of a market?

It's definitely an improvement from the previous Ridgeline, but they need to make the front look waaaay more rugged. It looks like it's trying to be a car up front, i think because of those headlights. Remind me of something off the TL.

donjalapeno 07-27-2016 11:22 AM

^ its aiming to be a "urban" city truck. It has a mixed personality of rugged and luxury. It's definitely not really meant for construction/heavy duties. It's meant for families that prefer a truck over a suv which I think is the case with most families especially in the west coast.

I see families driving huge ram 2500s and struggling to take the kids out of the truck and putting the groceries in the bed etc. This Ridgeline fits the lifestyle of those people. It's a really practical and fuel efficient truck. It's in a class of its own.

i had the same reaction...i kinda like it.
it's definitely in a class of its own with that look

I've been looking at the Honda Fit as a replacement for my Golf. From what I'm seeing it's better spaced for passengers and has more cargo capacity despite being smaller on the outside :lawl:

Definitely waiting for the release of the upcoming Si. Have been waiting for this upcoming Si ever since they announced the new LX/EX/Touring Civics and after reading all the reviews and driving one. If the new non-Si Civics drive so well, the Si's can only be better.

^ that's a sedan

Supposedly the 5 dr hatchback will be coming to Canada along with the SI, rumors seem to point at 2017 Q1 or Q2 for availability

Nabatron 07-28-2016 11:22 AM

when is the civic si and type r suppose to be released?

6o4__boi 07-28-2016 11:30 AM

Si should be next year

Type R is only rumoured at this point but if it does come to North America, probably 2018-2019

Nabatron 07-28-2016 11:32 AM

lol fucking Honda....

i thought it was a 3dr hatchback that will be coming to Canada along with the SI, rumors seem to point at 2017 Q1 or Q2 for availability

I didn't know there is a 3 door hatch available at all. I've only seen the 5 door hatch in various publications.

Off topic, but does the new Ridgeline have CarPlay/Android Auto?

Wow, $57k.... That's a lot of money to dump on a city truck. I think it'll be tough sell against the american trucks when you can get a very decent truck at that price.

donjalapeno 07-28-2016 10:48 PM

it starts at 35k. The black edition is basically the touring model with black accents/rims and black leather with red stitching. My dealership is only getting 17 units this year and 9 are already sold. I don't they think they will be a tough sell what so ever.

17 units in total or 17 black editions?
