In my younger days, I would not say my views were any better, but later in life I've seen how fucked up shit has become, and if I had a cool half billion dollars, there is no way my conscience would let me just enjoy life without using some of it to try and right the ship.

Anyways, it would be nice if some of our rich, glorious leaders like Chip or Markus used some of their fabulous wealth to better our city, but let's be honest, there is little to no loyalty between humans these days, and even less between Vancouverites.

I got banned from GoodReads because I tried to give back. I spoke out years ago against 50 Shades of Grey and the glorification of women giving themselves to wealthy men for nothing other than their wealth and status. The admiration of concentrated greed and power.


Of course, nearly every single cunt on that website simply attacked me ad hominem and calling me a failed author, unsuccessful, jealous of E.L. James, "your book is shit, that's why you attack 50 Shades, loser!" etc etc. The exact same shit I get hurled at me when I dare suggest that online dating reduces the quality of our social lives and community interactions. Markus is a completely self-absorbed individual. His wife is a complete gold-digger who met him after being employed by him and seeing the size of his paycheques. All I'm trying to say is, in our culture and society, we reward the more predatory people with huge fortunes, and not the people actually trying to make a difference.
