Air Con Unit Install? Civic EG or Del Sol

Hi all, Where should I go to even get info as to how I can get an air con unit installed into my 1995 Del Sol locally?

Please help. Thank you!

5 seconds on Google yielded this:

How To- Install Air conditioning into a Non A/c Del Sol or EG - Honda-Tech

^^^^
Honda-Tech usually has good tutorials, this one looks legit.
I too have a 95 Del Sol, and, my AC makes all the diff on these hot days with the top off. I only really turn it on at stops but, whew, without it..... sucks

Thank you for your feedback, I did read that already and I wanted to know if anywhere locally will sell the kit and do the install etc.

Habboy, power loss with the AC on is just terrible. I do the same thing while at stops or maintaining a constant speed, otherwise it bogs down the engine so bad.

Viggen, there's no kit. You'd have to piece together the components with a combination of new and used parts. As far as install goes, any competent shop would be able to install the system but be warned that the cost of labour will be substantial - shop around and get quotes.

Ya, I understand that. Thank you Fliptuner. I just wish there's a whole kit out there and I can get it installed. would a couple thousand $ do the job? you think? I'll shop around. Anyone with any recommendations?

Technically you could get all the parts from the dealership. lol

I think with a combination of new and used parts, you doing the legwork, parts would be $600-700 and labour, maybe 8-10 hours?

Umm then it would only be around $1,500 or less

Most EG owners wouldn't consider spending that much just to add AC.

$1500 - $2k, yeah probably. I usually calculate shop rate around $90-$100/hr.

For the cost, wouldn't it be easier to sell your car and buy another one that has A/C already, even if it needs a recharge.

DelSol's are a lot harder to find than your run of the mill EG coupe/hatch. I suspect he has some sort of attachment to the car and is willing to put a few bucks into it, regardless of the monetary return.

I have a T1R midpipe for it (only fits DelSol) if you plan to change your exhaust.
