Who's gonna be watching more movies to redeem for a premium movie (ultra AVX, IMAX, D-Box, 3D, VIP) using 1000 points before this change? -only two hundred points away, two more movies, before I can get my free movie ticket. :accepted:

Starting November 4, 2015, the way you earn and redeem SCENE® points for movie tickets will change. You will earn and redeem SCENE points based on the movie experience you choose:?

Weak rewards. You'd think we get better rewards considering how expensive movie tickets are here in Vancouver compared to everywhere else.

Still 1000 for one VIP. Changes to 2000 each effective November.

Ppl collect scene point?
The moment i found out they point you per visit, not per ticket, i threw my card in the garbage

^ Just do two transactions then if you are buying two tickets. Use the self check-out if you don't want to deal with someone twice.

why wouldn't people collect scene points.....?

the points are free and can earn you a free ticket down the road. even if it's per visit, not per ticket (because you can't be bothered to do multiple transactions), it's still free.

lol... I found that out after maybe using it for a year. So then we just told them to swipe the card twice. But whatever, my gf ended up getting her own card afterward. We just pay together, and tell them to swipe each card.

I have no idea how many points I have collected now... I've been collecting points for several years now.

But I did use them to watch Interstellar on IMAX. I would have never paid for IMAX if it wasn't "free".

i figured it out after a couple movies once i got scene. always had used my own twice ever since. even for online ticket purchases.

I'm surprised they didn't make this change sooner and actually let you redeem 1000 points for the more expensive tickets for years and years now.

lol overreaction no?

Why would you not participate? It's one of the best rewards programs out there (prior to the upcoming changes).

For watching a movie (using an $8.50 voucher---why would anyone pay the standard $12.50 for a movie), you can get the following:
100 points (standard amount you get per visit if they scan your scene card)
50 (Scenetourage--just set up a group with your friends and any time two of you watch a movie together you both get a bonus 50 scene points. I usually watch movies with my girlfriend so it's a bonus 50 points every time)

50 (Timeplay--used to be 50 for simply participating, but now you have to rank in the top ten to get 25-50 points and it's usually not that hard to rank).

Anyway the whole program will get nerfed but it's better than not participating at all given the amount of work

Pretty bummed about this, kept my scene visa card for years because I was claiming more VIP tickets then I would of gotten $ from cash back cards.. still got 8000 points to blow through before November.
