Found Iphone

Mom found Iphone at a Mall. She waited for someone to call to give back but no one called.

I finally came by and took a look, the phone is in chinese or something and the network is off so I can't use siri to call home or recent.

How do I return it to owner

nma 08-14-2015 11:33 PM

Pull the sim card and see what carrier it belongs to, then drop it off at one of their stores.

Maybe return it to the mall where your mom found it or bring it to the apple store?

dragondragon99 08-15-2015 09:44 AM

Apple Store, Carrier store(via sim) or RCMP

danned 08-15-2015 09:37 PM

own it

CP.AR 08-21-2015 12:57 AM

I'm guessing that it's also locked as well...?
If not, open up Facebook and have a look at a name or post a "PLEASE CALL ME" post?

RickyTan3 08-21-2015 05:48 AM

I am probably going to give it a corporate store and hand it in. I tried calling the mall to see if anyone lost the phone can give me a call but no luck yet.

There was even a bus pass behind the phone case and surprisingly they did not write name or phone number..

so hard trying to do the right thing LOL.

You can still do it via Siri.. long hold the Home key.. then say Who owns this phone Siri?

Ran into the same issues when my mom found a Samsung Note in a parking lot too. Owner had remote wiped it by the time my mom gave me the phone to deal with. I found a few clues on who's phone it was, but couldn't find anything on FB/social media.

The tough part is, depending on the carrier, even the corp store may not be able to locate the owner. It's an issue with what information their inventory/account system keeps linked.

Even with the IMEI and the Sim number, Bell wasn't able to locate the subscriber.

You need to say it in a chinese accent.

underscore 08-27-2015 08:53 PM

If the network is off I'm guessing it belongs to a tourist. Does the bus pass have any numbers on it (sorry I've never had one) that they could use to give you a name?
