Guy just called they want my car on set for Thursday, Friday and Saturday next week.

I'm supposed to be in Edmonton for work, so I don't know what my options are, but I'll make it work, seems like it would be fun, so I'd like to be there myself, but if I can't make it because of work I will send someone with the vehicle.

how much does a gig like this pay?

It's actually better than I would have thought, but nothing worth missing work over just for the pay. Only reason I would want to be there is for the experience, like I said, I think it'd be cool to see.

Haha, I've actually asked a couple buddies, but not easy finding someone who has thursday and friday off in the middle of the day (especially since they don't really know when exactly they will need the car, or how long it will take).

Worst comes to worse, I'll have someone drop the car off, and just leave it with them. The guy said the car would be under guard.

Only thing that sketches me out about that, is someone messing with the air ride settings. Best solution I can think about that, is to just air the car up to like a reasonable height and then just disconnect the touchpad so nobody can fiddle with the ride height.

Okay well Car has been on set since yesterday afternoon. Will be there until saturday night:

Weird experience, i'll post more on it later maybe.

Filming is luckily from 3pm to like 3am, so I don't really have to take time off work, and I can still be there to make sure everything is okay.

Side Note: They had to apply some sort of tint to my headlights in order to dim them for the camera, ended up really messing up my headlights lenses. Now I have to deal with that, which really sucks cause my headlights are pretty customized...

Kinda figured that puke green G2 would be there. It's been around so long that's it's almost coming back into style. Well not really. Just wanted to say something nice about it. Haha!

Lol.

It's actually like this really crazy gold colour. Yeah the car has been around forever.

It's got a good story actually, I've had a lot of time on set to talk to the other two owners.

He bought the Teggy brand new in 1993, when he was in HS. He's owned it ever since, and he admits the entire thing was done just to win trophies. The car is far from perfect, it is getting really old now, and lots of the mods have been done for years, and trying to keep up with it is probably pretty hard.

Nonetheless yeah the car is certainly an oddball, but it's just so over the top, that you can't help but look at it, and want to check it out. I mean he has TV's in the floors where your feet go, TV screens in the headrests facing forwards. Its fucking nuts.

Someone just reminded me about this, and I figured others might be looking for an update as well.

The car was on set for a total of 3 days, my car was one of three being utilized by the "baddies" in that episode; some sort of Latin street gang.

At first the experience was nerve wracking, dropping off my car and leaving it in someone's hands who I barely know was pretty scary, but the first day I got on set I was informed I was welcome to stay and watch as long as I wanted. After the first day my fears we're completely eased.

They had one individual specifically tasked with watching our 3 cars, and keeping them safe. This individual turned out to be one of the best people ever, he went to ends of the world to keep the cars safe and clean. Even covering them in car covers at night and so on.

With that said there was a bit of an incident with some tinting film on my headlights:

This was resolved promptly and the company paid for the damages and all was resolved smoothly with no issues on their end. I already have new headlights built and in bound.

Quick shot they probably wouldn't want me posting from set (meh fuck it):

Overall it was pretty cool to be involved with something like this, and getting to see what goes on is quite fun. The food on set was also well worth it... :fullofwin:

Bob Buxton, who's information is listed on the front page of this thread, handles a lot of this sort of stuff, if people we're interested i'd shoot him a message. I'm sure he's always looking for weird and different stuff to use. Obviously your stock silver honda civic is useless for this sort of shit as if they wanted that they could go to any rental agency and pay 30 bucks a day.

But if you have something different and modded I'm sure they might have a use for it somewhere, sometime. No harm in shooting him and email with a couple pictures and he can keep it on file in case.

If anyone is interested you can check out Season 1 Episode 4 of Lucifer as that is the one my car is involved in. I just watched the pilot episode myself, and the show actually looks pretty cool. It is on Fox though, so it will probably get cancelled.... :lawl:

What the hell man, spoilers!

J/k, good to hear it went well and they handled any issues promptly.

So I just watched the episode last night I noticed the Gold Honda Prelude with tbe Acrylic Hood that was really popular and did the DTP & Importfest shows like 5-10 years ago; also a flat black wrapped Infiniti FX35 with rims? Pretty sure that's owned by an RS Member

The_AK 02-25-2016 08:00 PM

^read above

E_Fahlman 02-25-2016 08:00 PM

Hahaha whoops just saw the above posts! Haha I'm a noob

meme405 02-25-2016 09:17 PM

Hah, yep episode aired monday night.

Yellow teg, and the impala are both local cars as well. Yellow teg is still owned by the guy that used to enter it in car shows ages ago. The thing is outrageous, owner even admits that it was built to play into that style and to win car shows. It has more TV's than most sports bars... lol

extracrunchie 02-26-2016 08:53 AM

Bring in the Tron and vinyl wrapped cars.

white rocket 02-26-2016 10:33 AM

Wife loves the show. Will be watching the newest episode tonight.

20psi 03-02-2016 12:55 PM

Glad it mostly worked out! Bob's a cool guy despite looking quite scary lol.
