I got 15 eevees on Saturday night at the tri-lure spot in Stanley Park. I also normally get 2-3 a night at home.

When the speech bubble shows up over MY pokemon saying (it's not very effective...) does that mean my pokemon is not doing damage to the gym's pokemon, or the other way around?
Gym battles are just a frenzy of screen tapping I have no idea which is which lol
Stopped right outside Osoyoos as my buddy needed to take a washroom break. Buddies gf screams there's an Aerodactyl, I open and catch one at CP897 Good timing loll
so happy its officially out in Canada and for iOS... Have no clue what I'm doing or if I got anything good so far but I'm happy right now. Can't wait to see whats around my work tomorrow.
Tip for new people. Don't bother upgrading your pokemon at the beginning since what you catch is based on your level. Any candy or items you use now will be better later on.
Not too sure since I'm still stacking them but if you do make sure you activate a lucky egg for double XP. I saw a youtube video where they use a lucky egg and upgrade all the useless pokemon in the 30 minute time span for a 2 level jump.
There's 5 pokestops within a 1 minute walk from my apartment the closest is a tiny park like 200m away where a bunch of people were dropping lures haha.

If it says "Not effective" over YOUR OPPONENTS pokemon, you are doing less damage to them; vice versa, therefore if it's over YOUR OWN pokemon, the opponent is doing less damage to you.
Not sure if it's been posted yet, but if you want to control Eevee's evolution you name it either Pyro, Sparky or Rainer depending on who you want.
Pyro = Flareon
Sparky = Jolteon
Rainer = Vaporeon
A buddy and I put it to the test, and it worked!
walked around lafarge lake last night....5 lures set up. tons of people out playing.
my wife and i started playing saturday night
haha I probably walked past you a few times unknowingly. I was there for an hour or so walking around the pond with my wife. It's gotten busier and busier I noticed (I live where I can see the lures there). That doesn't count the people that stay in their car in the center parking lot as well :O
murd0c- just keep enough of your duplicates that you can evolve. the rest can be traded in for candy.
Then as mos_keeto said, crack a lucky egg at a lured trispot and just sit there and evolve all that you can. You'll level up like crazy, and since you're in a tri spot you can take advantage of all the spins to get 200xp each time. AND as you catch more pokemon you can try and evolve more while trading in if you need to.
ok hold on, break that down into simple english...
- keep duplicates to evolve? i thought you just keep the highest CP one and trade the others info candy? haven't really done anything other than transfer in lower level duplicates for candy
- lucky egg? where/how do i get those? i have eggs that i'm incubating? you mean once i've reached the 2/5/10kms do that while i'm at a lure? then i need candy to evolve them right?
tri spot is just three pokestops close together right?
tips on the spin throws? started trying it last night but didn't catch any that way

It's a matter of efficiency for XP; levelling 4 weedles will use 48 weedle candy, but will net you 4x more xp than levelling a kakuna to a beedrill, which uses 50 weedle candy.
Lucky eggs are given to you at certain levels. I think 8 is the first one. If you can time for your incubating eggs to hatch while you have a lucky egg, then you get double xp. Doesn't have to be at a lure spot.
Tri-spot, yes - there are a few quad stops around town.
