Read the back of the transfer form or check icbc's site. If you SELL your car, don't cancel the insurance and BUY another car, you can use the plates off your old car on the new one. You need the insurance paperwork, sellers copy of the transfer form for the old car, transfer form and reg for the new car. The coverage stays the same. |

You are covered by all the same insurance coverages as on your current vehicle for 10 days. Mark |
Yes as stated above, if you have sold you car and buy a new car, you can put the plates from the sold car on your new car without transferring insurance coverage for max 10 days from the date of when the old car was sold. If you get pulled over you must provide proof that you sold the old car and you have the new car under your name. |

ie: you sell your car on June 1 and don't cancel the policy. If you buy a car on July 15th, you can run your old plates/insurance til July 24th. You need: - valid insurance document - sellers copy of completed transfer form for old car - registration for new car - completed transfer form for new car |

Someone has messaged me saying the last known possible sighting was at 9pm today on Main and Broadway, Vancouver. 4 guys were in the car. Driver was a pretty tall medium built guy with dark hair. Help me keep a look out around Vancouver. Thanks! |
*illegal got me all excited thinking I could put my daily plates onto my S2000 to drive for ten days without a permit. :okay: I wish ICBC let us put our plates on another car for a short period :( |

Not if the S2K is already in his name |
Hey everyone, the car was found tonight! Overall fine so far, and still drives good, but the door and ignition locks are kinda messed. Does anyone know where I can get these fixed cheaply? And Thanks to anyone who kept a look out for it! http://i1372.photobucket.com/albums/...psimxnm47k.jpg |
Had it happen to me. Most junkyards (what's left anyway) don't have the parts you need (least they didn't when I called a few months back). Managed to get what I need from people parting out their civics. Pretty simple fix but depends on how badly they damaged the cylinder...you might end up with two sets of keys. Parts will probably run you about 30$ or so, depends how good you are at bargaining. The junker out in Chilliwack charges about ~5/door cylinder, and ~20 for the ignition cylinder (not sure if he has parts though; didn't want to drive that far) |
Congrats. How far away was it? Notice how much mileage was put on? Less than 400 clicks I bet lol. If you get lock cylinders off a wrecker or someone parting theirs, just get all three so they're all the same. What's one more door while you're at it? Learn to diy when you take them off the donor. Ign cylinder only requires a centre punch and hammer to remove. The doors only need a couple screwdrivers, 10mm wrench and maybe a socket set. |
Great Thanks guys, I'll give the suggestions a try. It was found near Dewdney and Mariner, less than 10min from my house lol. The fuel gauge looks like it hadn't moved. I asked the house my car was parked in front of how long it's been there, and they didn't even know it was a stolen vehicle and said it's been there a while. The car got a parking ticket and then a towing warning sticker. |
What an idiot. That's literally a 15 minute walk from where it was stolen. At least you know he didn't drive the crap out of it. Probably just too lazy to walk. |
any chance that the thief lives in your area? also what security do you have for the car? |

I plan on getting an alarm system with kill switches etc installed, and also having a steering wheel club on all the time now. |
