Car startup and brake noise When I start my car (push start) it doesn't sound as smooth and roary as it used to... it now seems to sound like it makes a short struggling noise and then starts up. Not sure how to explain it but just doesn't sound like it used to, any suggestions to what might be wrong? I checked the oil levels and the tiny grooves on the dipstick show bits of oil marked on it but isn't EXTREMELY noticeable, does this count as okay levels or should it be clearly marked? Dipstick model is this: http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...l-Dipstick.jpg It does not look like this but shows bits of brown on those dotted grooves: http://www.diseno-art.com/images_4/d...l_tutorial.jpg Whenever I step down on the brakes say at a stop light, when I let go, it makes some grinding noise and is noticeable, this happens 60% of the time, causes? THANKS! |
what car? km? when was your last maintenance? why don't you take a picture of your actual dipstick level? To check oil level correctly, let the car sit for a bit, maybe 2 to 3 min after it was last ran (this allows oil to fall back into the oil pan). pull dipstick out, wipe clean, re-insert dip stick, then pull out and read the level. If it's within the dotted lines, you are good. |
2014 MDX. No maintenance was done on this car yet. Car sat for 30 mins before I tested it, no pictures at the moment but had to look closely to see that the dotted studs had remnants of oil on it |
