I currently have the General G-max as I was looking for the same (as close as you can get to all season performance and value) and with some snow capability.

From my experience, I feel that they do quite well for it's price. I only drive on the street and do some spirited driving. They do chirp a bit when I take some corners but in most cases they can handle more than I think. However, my car is awd so it will vary with a rwd.
I havent driven these on snow or ice so ill see how they do this winter.

Also, another thing to note is that the General Gmax weighs a few pounds less than most other tires so less rotational mass (faster acceleration?) but this is probably the reason why some people say the sidewall is soft...

I have DWS and they are excellent!

I've got the DWS on my TSX and it's got about 55K on it with plenty of tread left. Could go another 20-30K. That said, the edge is off the tires - after 4 years they are not as grippy on dry or wet surfaces so I'll probably replace them next spring.

Since I have winters available I'll probably opt for Michelin Pilot A/S 3s - they allegedly suck in light snow but are great otherwise.

DWS hands down, they are our no.1 selling tires for a reason. Much better in snow compare to Michelin a/s 3

only downside is the sideway is pretty damn soft, however they do not hydroplane in our weather. With the amount of pissing rain we get, that should be one of ur main concern.

Since so many people are pointing towards the DWS, maybe you can see if you can get your hands on the DWS06.

AS/3 gets my vote. Supreme wet weather grip, comfortable, quiet, and great tire wear as far as we have experienced. I don't have any information on snow/slush capabilities as we have a set of snow tires that we use during the winter months.

Conti DWS is definitely the best bang-for-buck all season high performance tire, if that's what you're looking for. However, I wouldn't quite say they're the best in the category. Still pretty close to the top though.

Honestly either its AS/3s or DWS , you cannot go wrong with them.

I would hate to see people cheap out on tires, like that is the first contact from your car to the ground.

Thanks for all the input guys. Cost isn't too much of a concern, more the convenience of not having to switch tires twice a year on a car that they barely use. My go-to place for tires is 1010 and they don't list Continental (at least not in the sizes the G35 needs) so thus far I'm going to be suggesting the AS/3.

It is true that it does not hydro even at highway speeds through standing water. The steering wheel does not tug.

1010 does carry Conti. Maybe try calling them first for size? Also TSS carries them too

I love my Michelin AS3s so far, but wouldn't have confidence in them in light snow or ice judging by online reviews. Guess I will use the ugly steelies and snow tires for at least another winter.

I went with A/S 3s as they seem to be the better performer of the two front runners (DWS being the other one) but it really sounds like you can't go wrong with either. If you really need the reliability to drive during the few times we see snow in town a year, then the DWS is the better all rounder, but if you've got a second vehicle with snows or have some other way to manage the A/S 3s seem like they can rival the performance of an average summer tire.

Not high performance but I have a set of DWS since 2010. This thing last forever.

I had Toyo Proxes 4 Plus on my Prelude before the part out and sold the vehicle.
They were great.
I'm not sure if they qualify as a high performance tire though. Definitely an all season with excellent grip in both wet and dry conditions.

Can someone recommend me a good set to get and a good place to buy them where they price match?

Sounds like Contintental DWS or Michelin a/s 3 are the top picks. I want tires that will last me, are good in the wet weather, can take on spirited driving and acceleration.

Nothing's changed. DWS06 if you need a bit of snow performance or AS3 if you are gonna run winters.

1010tires has the new DWS 06 too, I have them on my R now.

Found out cdn tire got micheline as3 on sale for 160.40 per. Kal tire beat the price by 5%. Now costco has the $70 instant rebate which kal tire wont match.

Kal tire's total quoted for install/balance eco disposal fee and tpms fee(?) Wtf of $39.84 came out to be $834 taxes in.

Costco is 697.97 with install and $780 after tax. I wonder if costco will balance it for you or not. If they dont balance kal has the best deal on this in town now.

TPMS fee is for calibrating your Tire Pressure Monitoring System AFAIK
