Anyone have any experience with them? Hows the light output and pattern? They seem interesting...

The truth is that these are not DOT approved nor are they designed to work well with every type of car head light. The main reason, as mentioned in the article, is that the light is produced from the little diodes and is limited by its spread. Halogen bulbs spread light 360 degrees, but the LED diodes only spread in one direction. The result can be spotty light output and uneven throw of light from factory reflector housings and especially on projector head lights designed for halogen or HID. If I get a chance, I will try to get some output shots for you with these plug and play LED headlights installed in factory halogen reflector housings. We have done quite a few, but the output has never been impressive enough to warrant taking pictures :P

Make no mistake though, LED head light kits are a very cool concept. In some reflector housings, they can actually work nicely. The light output is close to HID and have the instant-on effect. However, if you are looking for the best type of aftermarket lighting upgrade... there is nothing that can beat a proper Bi-Xenon projector running a good quality HID kit.

At our shop, we have experimented with all sorts of setups. The most recent and interesting one is our CBR600RR with 2015 Corolla factory LED projectors retrofitted. We compared that to our 250R with mini h1 Bi-Xenon projectors running Hyperion HID system. The result was a surprise, mini H1 projector HID kicked the LED projector light's ass in terms of output and cutoff sharpness. On top of that, the factory Toyota LED drivers make a very annoying high-pitched whine when running.

BUT... can't deny the cool factor is off the scale compared to the HID projector retro which is so common nowadays.

Ive been using led lights for a while ,I recent put them in a projector style lens, and am not to happy with them. It may be due to the projector housing, but there is lots of " dark " spots. when looking in the housing, there is a separator of some sort, that looks like it may be causing the shadowing. But overall, they are clean looking , brighter, and sweet looking. I usually change every bulb in car to led. If you have tinted windows, it may be hard to see outside car, if you have interior light on that is led.
