Don't really like how it was ended. Seems a bit rush.

Show just didn't have the same appeal to me like Daredevil. I felt that was so much more entertaining.

Anyone notice this show takes place in hell's kitchen same with DD. When is chef ramsay going to come out and yell and range at them lol.

I believe all 4 shows take place in DD. Dare Devil, Luke Cage, Jes Jones, and Iron Fist. The 4 eventually come to form the Defenders.

Too bad Spider-Man is too big a character and used only for movies. He's pretty much a Hell's Kitchen guy too. Fights local crime and teams up with daredevil a lot. He would be the best cameo ever if they could work out a deal.

I'm going to agree with some comments above.

I just didn't get enticed to watch more, like I did with Daredevil or Narcos.

I liked it. I found that daredevil got better and better kinda like an upwards staircase.

JJ started off high and kinda fluctuated up and down so the end was less awesome.

Is it just me,
Or did you guys not empathize with JJ that much?

The extent of how the physical and mental torture Killgrave put her through was picked up in conversation. A bit.
But even then, it didn't get gritty and gruesome.

And the flashbacks we saw, showed very little in the way of physical trauma as well.

In the comics, Killgrave forces her to watch him have sex,
and makes her beg for it continuously.
I think he made her jump non-stop too? (which they gave to Hope?)

Like Killgrave comes off as an asshole,
but not the deranged, psychopath that some YouTubers described him to be in the comics.
Was I upsold to have unrealistic expectations?
Or did it feel like the show played that part just a little too safe?

He made JJ jump too. Hope said "He made me jump but said you were way better" or something like that. I'm guessing he was watching her do her super jumps really high, over and over again.

Berz out.

Yea I think they down play his ruthlessness a lot. That kind of power with someone not ashamed of using it has potential for some evil evil shit. Being a TV show though I'm sure they were very limited. For instance the death of buddy in her bed. That could have been a very gruesome, sick scene had they the mindset to do it. You get a small taste of it though "Lets see how long it takes you to bash your head through that Pillar." for instance.

I agree, I didn't feel for JJ at all but with that said the style in which this and DD are done is still way more refreshing and enjoyable for me vs the really PG network TV stuff like Shield, Flash, Arrow. Not that there's no room for my enjoyment with those styles but sometimes I just want the opposite.

Berzerker 12-09-2015 12:47 PM

Also it's hard to empathize with her when they really didn't touch to much on the trauma he did to her. How long was she under his control? What kinds of evil shit did he make her do? They touch on a small portion, but overall we are just left to our imagination. One murder, some jumping, some digging, it's hard to feel hatred just because we are told he's the bad guy...
