Roughly 40K :fulloffuck:

Destination? Did your buddy bring it in and announce the sale or would you happen to know how the deal got arranged?

Just asking as a similar proposition has been made to me last year. Brought car into service and they did a PPI and asked if I wanted to sell the car

Akord 06-24-2017 12:45 AM

BTW keep seeing CW ITR with FMIC around town. Was at ADESA auctions last weekend.

Also while taking my car out for a spin the other day, cruised alongside playfully with a white R32 GTR. Pulled up and it was a chick! Had to make it home before insurance expired but that girl knew her car pretty well

twitchyzero 06-24-2017 12:52 AM

i find it hard to believe any Honda dealer would offer $40K for an Acura to put in their showroom

does not compute

as a trade?

A simple business move. Since the new CTR is making it's way here why not compare it with the only other R car to come to North America and have one on hand to build hype. It's nothing for a dealership to spend $40K on a car that's made for advertising and gaining business. Especially since it's likely to be worth that on the open market anyway.

twitchyzero 06-25-2017 01:18 AM

except they don't need the marketing
i thought all CTRs coming to the local dealers have already been spoken for

but let's say they do, wouldnt it make more sense to approach any of the garage queen owners to rent one out for few grand? I admit I dont know much about the operating budget of big dealerships but banking on reselling for $40K down the road seems risky. Have we seen R sell for more than $30K in Canada?

not to mention putting a DC2R next to the new Civic Type R would be like a Honda Insight next a Lamborghini Veneno...same badge, totally different wavelength. Surprisingly, they're not that much heavier or bigger

gotdamn they're still so perfect *heavy breathing*

tofu1413 06-25-2017 11:33 AM

dang, new CTR so fussy looking compared to a 90's R

Akord 06-25-2017 12:09 PM

you don't realize how small the DC2 is until you park it next to modern compact cars nowadays

Not knowing to much about the JDM Type R market but by the looks of whats listed for sale why would someone buy your ITR over the other one for sale for $13,500 it has 70k less kms and looks to be in better condition + matching seats

1. Price is not firm
2. I have the stock seat, just not on the car
3. The only bad condition of my car is the chipped corner on the front bumper
4. My car is arguably more stock than that car
5. His seats are not what came with the car (pretty sure 96 DC2's came with the black seats)

Spoiler!

All true. Dealership pockets are usually pretty deep though. Could be something that the dealer principal would like to enjoy and $40K is nothing to spend on something that is deemed promotional, even if the recoup is 0 dollars, which in this case, isn't. The smart move for dealer owners/principals is to get the company to pay for their auto hobby by running it through the business. This ITR purchase could have been a similar case.

Any guesses what this will fetch?[emoji15]

10k is pretty cheap! If someone wants it without the TE37 will the buyer have to bring their own wheels?

tegra7 06-28-2017 09:03 PM

I thought JDM ITR's were dirt cheap to import?

They're not terrible, but there is a small jump in price when you compare 96/97 to 98+, and with increasing scarcity. I realized that, and I'm casually looking at the Accord Euro-R as they can be had for cheaper, but with a decent percentage of the performance of an ITR. If I sell my LS400, I can probably cover the cost of a CL1, where I'd still have a good ways to go if I wanted a 4-door ITR.

better grab one soon. Euro R's are more expensive than last year already.

Already consulting a few places to get a hand in the process. Doesn't help I'm only looking for the 02MY since they got the upgraded gearbox and ECU adjustments.

Know anyone that might want a 1st-gen LS400 with less than 160k on it? :fullofwin:

tofu1413 06-29-2017 12:55 PM

pretty sure you can sell yours pretty quickly if its reasonably priced. very few nice LS'es out there.

41K-Mile 1997 Acura Integra Type R | Bring a Trailer

Auction ended at $24,500 USD Not bad considering the awful wheel colour and multiple missing VINs. A nice 97 driver!

This car is winter driven or is stored outside. That is some crazy rust under the chassis, brakes calipers, all the lines, control arms. Plus the underneath rear lower arm panel looks replaced and the lower arm is bent to shits.

freelunch 07-05-2017 10:36 PM

Brought it home for the summer!
