I don't think AWD is as necessary as many think for mountain trips. It doesn't meet your parameters due to RWD but an e90 m3 is a pretty awesome way to enjoy a v8. |
brapppppppppppppppppppppppp and 8300 rpm everydayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! :lawl: |
Get a landcruiser and don't look back. |

well we all know that it's coming to Canada http://img.response.jp/imgs/zoom1/965773.jpg http://img.response.jp/imgs/zoom1/965784.jpg |
Wouldn't mind a Cadillac CTS-V wagon with 6speed manual....unicorn. |
5.0 Genesis sedan is AWD, going to have to be used unless maybe the 2015's go on clearance in a few months... |
CLA 45 AMG is right around that price range. |

I agree. Never thought I'd fall for a Cadillac but this car has presence. Canepa curves and murdered out....Satan's wagon: http://i.imgur.com/0eQxuGw.png |

http://zombdrive.com/images/2014-cad...sv-wagon-4.jpg Still an epic ride, and still looks good, but just figured that all that work and parts will put it over the $50k threshold. ALSO: http://www.egarage.com/wp-content/up...S-V-wagon3.jpg Blue looks better. *Biased* |

hmm i usually really like the looks of wagons but the CTS-V looks too SUV-like stock or modified...may be it's the shorter wheel base or just the angle of the photos...needs to be more hearse-like Spoiler! |
^ the back of the 5 series wagon looks so awkward, and we don't have the 5 series wagon here in Canada. |
2016 Lexus IS is not a bad choice as it has AWD, not sure about how "sporty" it is though. The Infiniti Q50 ain't bad of a choice either. Or if you're willing to dish out a few thousand more, Range Rover Evoque can bring you up those mountains nicely :^) |
ugh i get to be devil's advocate... i've driven two out of the three listed above. the IS is not sporty in 2wd so i do not have high expectations for the awd version. the q50 feels disconnected, especially that weird electronic steering. i've never been in a evoque, but the reviews say it's more eye candy than anything else :( |
must keep this thread alive... it's not a 2016, but i think it qualifies well for awd and a v8 :) |

I own a 15 Q50 and i feel a lot of people have a misunderstanding about this car. The DAS steering is only if you get the tech package. I drove a Q50 with nav+tech and one with just nav and it's completely different. I ended up picking up the one with just nav, i was upgrading from a g37 and the steering feel without the tech package feel ALMOST the same as the g37. Without the tech package you lose a lot of the convenience stuff, memory seats...,lane change assist, blind spot warning and a few different notification options on the gauge. I paid cash and all in to drive off the lot it was only 39-38k. For what i'm getting i was pretty happy. I did test drive a lot of cars in the high 20s and mid 30s price range just to see if i was missing anything by going back to infiniti, but in the end i was happy i did. I live in Edmonton so i'm not sure if it makes a difference, but talking to lexus and bmw dealers the cheapest is250 was almost 44k and a bmw 328i was touching 50k. |
Under $50k no brainer for me. Focus RS http://blog.caranddriver.com/wp-cont...02-876x535.jpg http://media.caranddriver.com/images...s-original.jpg http://blog.caranddriver.com/wp-cont...96-876x535.jpg |
