Toyota/Scion S-FR

Another car trying for the Miata market....this one seems to be VERY inexpensive.

"Pitched as an entry-level model, the new concept emphasizes responsiveness, and aims to make a whole new generation fall in love with driving, continuing the proud heritage of Toyota's fun-to-drive lightweight sports cars."

Of course we won't get it here, so just another car to go "Facckkkkk" over... I really like this, harkens back to the original Toyota S800. Sure it's a bit girly and it's small, but it looks like a blast.

So it's a new Suzuki cappuccino

I like the idea behind it. Small, light and nimble. Only a claimed 130bhp in there but I would imagine it would still be a fun drive.

Can't tell scale from those images. Is it a new platform or did they just remix the FR-S with cheaper components?

that grill. :sweetjesus:

StylinRed 12-08-2015 04:47 PM

I like it, yet I also want to punch it...

The grill is the only thing about that car that I don't like... personally I would love to own a car like this or the S660 as a cheap autocross/track car and summer/weekend driver, especially if they sell at around 15k new.

I can see why "kei" cars will never come to North America, as I doubt they'd pass our safety regulations (and for good reason). I can't see one of these things getting into a crash with your typical bro-dozer lifted F250 and the passengers walking away from it...

why are carmakers recently obsessed with large ass grilles? It works if it's styled aggressively, not on this bubbly eyesore.

OP didn't post any rear shots, so I googled it.

The interior should be able to rotate 180 so you can just drive the other way so you never need to reverse.
