Best GoPro Drone..?

Looking to buy someone a gopro drone for xmas.

Budget is anywhere from 200-1000ish.

any recommendations? it would be used to boating, snowmobiling, etc.

thanks!

DJI Phantom2 with all the gadgets
but the exchange rate, you could be paying 1000+, may as well go for the Phantom3 with all the fancy GPS crap

check craigslist

the other alternative is the 3DR Solo, but thats 1500+ for everything minus the GP

i assume both do seamless 'follow' mode?

and on the topic of follow mode, will it dodge and weave trees etc?

ie, say i have it follow me while i'm snowmobileing.. if i go between two trees will it alter its path to avoid the trees, all the while still keeping the camera focused on me?

Buy something cheap first and learn how to fly because you are going to crash if you have no experience.

really limits your options if you want to use a gopro

follow on the Solo isn't practical...very risky unless it's a wide open clearing and even then i'd recommend having someone standing by ready to take control in case shit went south. With this bird you also can't take off on a boat because it'll sense uneven surface due to waves.

Definitely start with a cheap one to practice.
