2002 rsx base model auto/ weird startup, need help !! Hey guys I have a 2002 rsx, and I've got some minor issues. When I start it up it revs to about 3000-3500 and then drops low to about 300 then when u put it to Drive and press gas I have to go almost half way down to move faster, then when I stop it stalls. Don't know what it could be as I have seafoamed it!!! Any help will be much appreciated. Merry Xmas everyone! |
Also I have done the following in the past 7 months -new starter -new serpentine belt -new cat o2 scensor -new fuel pump assembly Needs a right side engine mount and transmission mount if anyone has! This mechanic I go to says he cleaned the IACV and throttle body but i don't think he did. |
you can easily find out if the iacv/throttle body is cleaned. take off your intake and you can see if it's clean. spray some carb cleaner (o2 sensor friendly ones of course) yourself if you think you can clean it more. spark plugs? |
When my car got seafoamed, my friend did it through the vac line. I hear it has to be through the brake lines as well? As for spark plugs I did not change it after seafoam, was I supposed to? |
Also don't I have to take the IACV and throttle body apart for a proper clean? What else can cause idle problems? |
Is there a check engine light on? |
No check engine light! Everything was done |

Saw this leak today? Would it have anything to do with my idle? My friend said it was from my steering rack? But I have no idea. |
probably better to circle the leak |
Look at first pic, you see the power steering pump? Look at thick wire next to it coming from winshield, follow it down to the bottom and you see that black rod going left? It's smudged with fresh oil. The second pic just shows it from that angle if u put your brightness to high you can see a little. |
Anyone????? Any help will be much appreciated |
