recommendations for product to clean stainless steel muffler

what is the best spray on cleaning agent to clean a stainless muffler and tip? it is very difficult for me to have to crawl under the car and scrub every time i go to the car wash and i want to know if there is something easier to use. thx

Don't know about a spray but I use Nver Dull (Home Page). Works like a charm and takes only a few minutes.

i do use that on the muffler tips, but my problem is the muffler canisters themselves... and i've got two of them and crawling under the car in the wet is something i want to avoid :(

i'm not aiming to get them nice and shiny, but i just want to get all the baked on crap off.

is it safe to use steel wool for the polished stainless that i have? i've tried just blindly reaching under the bumper to scrub with never dull but that stuff isn't meant for such a large application and went through the entire tin and it wasn't enough :o

Nothing that you can spray on. You're going to need some manual labour. Autosol metal polish is my preferred product. A little bit goes a long way, and it's far better than Nver Dull (IMHO)

Eventually it will leave some swirl marks. It has to be the super fine stuff that pretty much looks like a cats hair ball. I used it on my rx7 exhaust for years. Rotary exhaust is nuclear and shit would get baked on real hard. Just sprays on something so it's slick and the steel wool slides over pretty well. You don't even have to look because you can feel how clean it is by how easy the steel wool
slides

I'm not sure where it came from. It was always just in the detail shop.
