LOC tap 1 channel or 2? Hey guys i just got my LOC in the mail today from amazon and am thinking of finally wiring up my sub+amp combo for my is250. Its a single 12" sub powered by a mono amp btw. I have got power wire, remote wire and ground all routed out and connected now its just the matter of tapping the speaker channels with my LOC so i can plug in my RCAs since im running stock head unit. I've done some research browsing around many other car forums & communities but am getting mixed input. What i'd like to ask you guys with aftermarket subwoofers is, what channels did you tap into? The stock sub, deck speakers, or sub+deck. Some people say they get better results tapping both the front speakers and stock sub because the stock subs dont get mid bass. Some are saying that there is no point in doing that because amp can only read one channel??? I'm just a little lost, any input would be appreciated |
What kind of LOC did you get? |
It's a PAC-SNI35 i think that was the model name i can double check once i get home. People on acurazine and clublexus have reported using it so i decided to give it a go |
If you tap into the subwoofer output from your factory amp, you will cook your LOC. When you use the front or rear speakers to get your signal, you probably won't get the frequency that you want to replicate for a sub woofer signal. Factory amplified systems will normally remove the subwoofer frequencies from the fronts & the rears to be able to allow the subwoofer to do it's job and so that your 6" speakers don't fry from too much bass. Sorry. I'm just a messenger If you want to be able to make this work without any fires, I would suggest an electronic LOC like an Audio Control or a Wirez. They cost a lot more, but they will do the job that you want done, without the possibility of a fire |
What type of amplifier are you using Sofaking? Brand and model? |
haha its not the best i got it as an sub+amp+box combo for $150 "Terminator TNP112D 12 inch 200W RMS Vented Enclosure and Mono Block Amplifier" Ended up wiring it today and hooked it to the stock subwoofer channel.
