driver's door rattling sound Hey RS, Can anyone point me in the right direction to see if such a thing can even be fixed? For the past 3 months or so my driver's door [2014-2015 accord coupe] has been rattling every now and then (it happens daily) where i'll have music playing, and then i'll hear a faint rattling sound on the driver's door. The rattling only happens when music is playing. This did not happen before, and i've had the car since mid 2014? I listen to a lot of music and i do turn up the bass / subwoofer and the volume is usually on from low volume to medium-high volume depending on mood. When i smack the door a couple times while i'm driving the rattle will stop, or if i put my left knee against the door, it'll stop. I'm very OCD about these type of things and want to eliminate it. Will this be costly? Do i have to get it done at the dealership? Is this a common problem that can be fixed (i sure fcking hope so) |
From your descriptions, it's probably just something loose/ dangling. I don't see how this will be costly as it's just remove panel, locate whatever is making the sound, and slap the panel back on. Can get it done at a bodyshop, not just dealership. At most it should be a % of shop supply (if used any) + whatever shop rate is. |
I would pull the panel apart and try to find the culprit. Maybe use some foam tape to dampen any rubbing and see if it goes away. Tedious but if you are OCD like me you will think it is worth it. Plus, what better way to spend a weekend than tinkering with your own car =) |
I have heard this is quite common on Rav 4's too, and the culprit is something loose near the window of the window itself. Maybe try looking into tightening it up? |
