RMSoutheby's somehow got their hands on the ONLY street legal 911 GT1 Evolution and is putting it up for auction. And this isn't just a homologation special either. Someone managed to turn this actual former race car into a fully street legal ride. This car in particular has even won 13 out of 31 races it was in. The auction is set for May 14, 2016 with the car expected to sell between $3 Million and $3.3 Million. Unfortunately high resolution wallpapers are not available at this time.

Jerry was not able to sell his Carrera GT?? No buyers. :suspicious:

Does Seinfeld have a 918 Spyder and a GT3 RS? :considered:

Carrera GT doesn't run, just a show piece.

22 million out of 800 million dollar fortune from his tv series....daaaamn!!!

RE-Jo 03-14-2016 10:13 PM

why did he sell the Porsches?

Gucci Mane 03-14-2016 10:53 PM

^ the porsche bubble is going to burst. sell the cars now, get some money out of them and then when they get cheap, buy them all back. lol.

asian_XL 03-15-2016 03:55 AM

we will never understand celebrity. Successful life, large collection of cars, house, and woman, then all in a sudden fuck it, let's do charity

flagella 03-15-2016 04:56 AM

Lol what's not to understand about it? Most of them feel empty and if you'd look into life of successful business people, most are highly involved in charity work (albeit some are just for show to make them feel better internally).

Still better than many brainless celebrities that end up killing themselves though.

Porsche > drugs

Interesting theory. I'll jump on board with that. It's not like he needs the money so there has to be a reason why he decided to sell. Especially since he's a P-car nut. Charity is one thing but disposing of prized cars from a collection is not the right way to go about it.

ZN6 03-15-2016 10:44 AM

I'm guessing that he realizes he can no longer drive them all and give each of them the attention they deserve. I'm sure he has to hire a team to maintain them and drive them once in a while, otherwise, P-cars like any other car, if they sit, they will deteriorate and die.

I think that he is enough of a car nut in general to know that if these cars aren't being enjoyed and will slowly die from aging, he might as well auction them off to people who will put them to good use and make a buck or two out of it.

No shame in letting go.

Ferra 03-15-2016 02:05 PM

he collecting 22mil in P car is probably like us collecting few thousands dollars worth of diecast models, hobbies, toys, memorabilia...etc

rich or poor, sometimes people grow out of that interest and decide to sell it all.

If you no longer have interest in those objects, best thing is to sell it to someone else who actually appreciates them.
Plus you can use the money for things that means more to you now. (be it charity or another "hobby")

Mr.Stubbz 03-15-2016 06:18 PM

i think i read it somewhere in a jalopnik article or something, but i recall him giving a statement saying that he doesnt drive all of them as frequently as he wants to and wants to send them back out in the world for someone else to be able to enjoy driving them as he did.

which i think is a pretty nice and touching thing for such a well known car collector such as himself.

SkunkWorks 03-15-2016 11:04 PM

He has a 100+ collection so it's not exactly Porsche liquidation warehouse or anything. If this is the type of calibre of cars in his to go pile, I wonder what he considers keep worthy in that warehouse...

SpartanAir 03-16-2016 10:24 PM

Yeah, if you've watched his film Comedian or CICGC, he's just kinda bored. He made one of the best shows of all time. He has everything he could ever want. What do you do when you're as successful as you can be? His hobby is Porsches, so he probably collected like crazy. Just like when anyone gets older, the tendency is to simplify one's life.

No way he has the energy to drive all those cars. So good for him for selling some off. I'm sure his collection of P-Cars is one of, if not the best in the world.
