Removing Vomit Smell from Cloth Seats

Some faggot kid puked in my car over the weekend and I've tried the ground coffee solution, the baking soda solution and so far nothing worked. Is there anything else I can try that works?

TIA

Steam cleaner?

zilley 03-22-2016 03:30 PM

your screwed, i m trying to replace my carpet as we speak.

BoostedBB6 03-22-2016 03:37 PM

carpet extractor + ozonator

Depending on the car you may even be able to pull the seats and pressure wash them outside of the car, then let them dry in a very warm area to avoid mold and such.

The carpet extractor solution seems feasible. Is there anywhere I can get this done or a place that will rent these machines to me for the day or hourly?

You can rent them from places like Save-On and Superstore I believe. Been ages since I have done this (I detail for fun so I bought my own).

What kind of car is this in? If you can remove the seat from the car its ideal as well. That way you can focus on the effected area and let it dry properly without fogging up the car.

I'm gonna need a background explanation here :p

watch "faggot kid" be his best bud after a b'day party where everyone got white girl wasted. ... cuz i mean, how many of us would allow a random drunk to ride in our car?

Retrac 03-22-2016 09:12 PM

Light weights need to drink more to develop tolerance :troll:

But it depends where most of the vomit hit, is the seats fabric? +1 on removing seats and going from there.

The vomit hit the back of the driver's seat and the doors on the rear left, mostly on the door, barely any on the floor mats and rear seat. I cleaned up most of the shit and the coffee got some of the smell away. Where the odour is the strongest is the side of the driver's seat.

Excuse my stupid question, but can I use the carpet extractor's cleaning solution on the cloth seat?

some kid poo bird shit on my north face. now i can't get it off

To eliminate the smell completely you'll need to kill the bacteria. It's important to get every spot where the puke was and then some. You'll need an extractor, steamer, enzyme cleaner and an ozone machine to get it removed completely. If you bring it to a detail shop they'll ether say no or charge you an arm and a leg as its a biohazard job. For an enzyme cleaner I'd suggest Valugard Odor Terminator. I know one of the chemists behind their products. It can be found online. You can spray it on all surfaces on the interior without any staining etc. Best of luck.

leave car windows open for a month and leave car chilling in your garage...supposedly that shit works for smoked in cars might work or vomit too...

Yes you can. A hand held one will work for this and most likely what they will do if you took it to a detail shop.
Yeah, I would pull the seat from the car and clean them outside of the car.

Lowered_Klass 03-25-2016 10:03 PM

I would also pop the door panel off and see if anything got behind, like through the speaker grill, etc.

This happened to a friend, where he tried steam cleaning everything, but the smell stayed... until he popped the door panel off and found some residual vomit in the nooks and crannies. So gross. I feel for you man!

emmagloor 03-29-2016 08:11 AM

What are you doing it for?

1. Get that person to pay for the cleaning.
2. Do not hang out with drunks.

originalhypa 03-29-2016 09:46 AM

My dog puked all over the back seat of my Tundra a few months ago.
The steam cleaner worked like a charm.

Galactic_Phantom 03-29-2016 06:38 PM

Hey guys, thanks for you all your helpful responses.

The smell has gone away after I did another wipe down with a vinegar solution.

I have one final newb question to ask. I don't want to rent a steam cleaner if I don't need to since I don't have one. Will a garment steamer work for the cloth seats as well? I know it won't even come close to comparison, but if it can do a basic cleanup (since the smell is not here anymore) I'll be content. It is just a beater DD for me to go to school and back, nothing fancy so I'm not nitpicky.

And yes, I know I'm being cheap and I could ask the kid for full reimbursement, but the ordeal got me thinking about the days when I was young and fucked up many times beyond belief and my older friends were always there to take care of things when they shouldn't have. So while he is not my friend, I don't want to hold him responsible and put too much blame on him. I see it as a way of passing on the treatment I got when I was younger from older peers and hopefully he'll pass it down too.

Again, thanks everybody for the help.

originalhypa 03-30-2016 10:08 AM

I used a garment cleaner on mine. I wasn't sure if it was going to work, but it did!
I hated that thing. Three wife bought it for me for Xmas and I was a little let down. Once I realized it worked for cleaning my car interior and other parts, I was a lot happier.
:D
